Where do I even begin? The wedding has come and gone and we are both left with such beautiful memories. Nothing can describe the feelings we felt when the doors opened and we saw each other down the aisle for the first time. During the ceremony, Jeromy and I chose to read letters that we had written to each other that day. We thought that it would be nice to post the letters for those who were not able to attend.

Jeromy’s letter:

My dear Mandy Beth. I struggled to write this note to you, but once I conceded that there are just no words to describe my love for you, things started flowing easily.

Mandy, its hard for me to show you that you truly make me a better man. Your bright face makes me melt but your confirming love builds me up again. I traveled a long way in life, but from the first time I saw your eyes, I knew this day was on the horizon.

Mandy, I will love you with all of my soul, forever.

I am excited that today marks the beginning of a new life for both of us. A new life that will continue to grow with the love and wisdom of our Heavenly Father. Mandy, I will take this leap with you today, with a promise of love and open mindedness, forever.

My (Mandy’s) letter:

Jeromiah - when we first met, you were the last thing I was looking for and nothing at all what I thought I needed. But God saw it fit to send you, my greatest blessing, into my life. On a daily basis, you serve as my personal comedian, confidante, and my best friend. You have supported me in every way possible in every aspect of my life and I can’t thank you enough for what that has done.

Your patience and kindness are magnetic and I’ve become a better person since I have met you. For the first time in my life, I have known total peace and feel comfortable and beautiful in my own skin. I am honored to be the one next to you as you weather life’s storms and rejoice in future triumphs. I honestly love you with everything I have in me and I’m so excited to share my life with you.

Over the last couple of years, I have called you by many names - Jeromy, “J”, Winky, Wizard, Jeromiah… but on this day, I am so grateful to finally call you my husband. I love you and promise that I will cherish you always.

The whole evening is a beautiful blur to us. We both were so happy to have had such a great turnout and feel that we didn’t get enough “individual time” to visit with our guests. Even so, it meant so much to us to have so many supportive and smiling faces on such a special night. I hear that the dessert buffet and hot chocolate bar were a hit and that both the wedding and groom’s cake were delicious. We have begun a Flickr photo group for pictures from the wedding:

There was tons of great food and we had a salad bar along with desserts. Of course you have to have a cake, which was made by Stephanie (a wedding dress design). We played some games after eating. One was a funny mad lib of our love story (how we met, etc.) and the second was a toilet paper dress contest. Brad, Chris, and Josh were used as our “brides” for the toilet paper dress game and they were great sports about the whole thing. After the games, we opened our lovely gifts. We were both touched by the generosity of everyone and received so many beautiful things for the house. At the very end, there was a gag gift for us, which included several baby items.

We both really enjoyed having so many people we love and care about over to the house to visit and catch up. Below is a slide show of the shower (special thanks to Jenny for taking pics):

We’ve both been busy working on the house… we have painted four of the rooms, bought counter top for the kitchen, ordered flooring for the entryway and kitchen, etc.   I really had hoped that I would be unpacked and settled into the house by now, but no such luck.  Even so, things are moving along, and I’m glad to start seeing changes.  (I learned a couple of weeks ago that it takes a coat of primer and four coats of paint to cover up a lime green bathroom!)  We will be posting updated pictures of the house soon!
